Deformulation
This video installation is an interpretation of my dissertation research on sugar. I have explored biochemistry and the colonial past. The materials I have used are glucose syrup mixed with artificial food colouring filled in IV medical drips mounted on the walls. I have placed myself at the centre, surrounded by a conical flasks of coloured glucose and the multi-coloured tablecloth. In the video, I have performed as a chemist to enable the features of my alter ego refers to my "witchcraft fantasy" to make a toxin/poison from sugar.
