EAVE; Pendant Lamp of Korea  / 2019

In the olden times, beauty of traditional curvature stay remained until now in Korea.
The beauty of curvature can be seen from traditional Korean clothing (Hanbok), pottery, and Korean traditional architecture. Interesting fact about Korea is that our ancestors used curvatures to symbolize nature.

The beauty of curvature Hanok-(the traditional Korean house) can be found in roof. Hanok is very scientific and eco-friendly architecture because usually there are 4 corners in the traditional Korean roof and each corner are lifted towards the sky to prevent getting the wooden pillars from getting wet and decayed.
EAVE, a pendant lamp that has corners with different angles using the properties of a rectangle. It has various of beautiful curvatures in any directions you see
Our ancestors make the roof of the Hanok as a bowel to put the sky in as a conceptual and inspiration. It is from this inspiring expression that EAVE got its role as a tray in the sky.
