SCAD Sidewalk Arts Festival 2013 entry:
"JOIN THE ROBOLUTION!"
The theme of this SCAD Sidewalk Arts Festival entry was, simply put, robots. I am a very big fan of cartoons, animation, science fiction, and surreal art, all of which are combined in this piece, from the color scheme to the designs to the style of strong outlines on flat colors. The designs of the robots themselves are inspired by two specific sources: 90s cartoon programming and 80s arcade video games, both of which are great influences throughout my work.

The layout of the poster itself is intended to mimic old propaganda posters from 20th century war time, not for any particular reason other than to elicit a laugh and poke fun at the occasional absurdity of any and all political movements. The reason for this was that as I thought of my concept I looked back on history and found myself puzzled by the endless barrage of propaganda that becomes so detached from reality so quickly that it becomes almost surreal--thus was born the inspiration for this piece.
