The Debrief Podcast - Rebrand

As it entered it's 100th episode, The Debrief podcast was in need of a new identity and visual language. I wanted to create a system that was experimental and rebellious to the structured and defined systems of most brand standards. By setting the visual context, we were able to adapt and transform the same content to reintroduce it as young, rebellious and a little irreverent to it's existing brand.
We decided that the brand would be grounded by color and type. By simplifying the brand elements, the visual language would be cohesive, regardless of the application. This created a system that would scale well as the podcast continued to grow.
By combining digitally designed logo and type treatments, we were able to print and add effects manually using camera trick, scanners, and folding techniques. This was a project less about structure and process and more about playing and exploring until we landed on something that just felt right.
