ineffable - selfportraits

I think my images as fragments. I am trying to transmit with exactitude the memorisation process and the destruction that is part of it and his ineffability.

I was always obsessed with the fear of time passing by me, not living the moments as we are supposed to. I always lived time as a grief : the impossibility of proving the exactitude of memories made me doubt about my own identity and of others.

My work is notably about the analogie of our neuroligic memorization process and the way we treat our memories in the numeric era.

For this, I use in my images optical aberrations, refractions, metal ang glass. I play with analog and digital aberrations, using different process said of “destruction”.

My self-portraits are for me a kind of “memory box”, the one little box, folder on our desktop or envelop that is full of things only us can understand. It is like these songs that we listen over and over and are deciphering in our unique way. It retrace the struggle of growing-up in a society that is questioning time and memories over and over, where the future is incertain and the moments are stocked as gigabytes.

I often scan, edit, capture, erase my images multiple times, like layers of new perceptions, reinterpretations. This way, I think my work as not reproductible and subject to randomness.
ineffable.
