Almanac /Calendar/ is a collaborative project with 18 calligraphy and lettering artist from different countries.
12 calligraphy artists were asked to make a calligraphy composition for 1 word each in his/her native language (translated and written) ( arabic, siamese, filippo, korean, chinese, tibetan,georgian, kirillic , latin laguages, etc) for a name of the month and six lettering artists made 4 Openers in English representing the name of the season lettering compo and 2 Project Covers in English and Russian which I recreate in paper (+volume, 3d, color) later in my turn.
The main goal of the project was to show the uniqueness and beauty of each culture through writing, to tell about the differences in life at different times of the year in different countries and at the same time to highlight that visual art is a special language that can unite many people, it is beyond borders, beyond time and politics.
