Wat Chaiwatthanaram is a Buddhist temple in the city of Ayutthaya Historical Park, Thailand, on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River, outside Ayutthaya island. It is one of Ayutthaya's best known temples and a major tourist attraction.
The Wat Mahathat Ayutthaya is located in the center of old Ayutthaya, between Chi Kun Road and Naresuan Road in the northeast corner of Phra Ram Park.
Wat Phra Si Sanphet was the holiest temple on the site of the old Royal Palace in Thailand's ancient capital of Ayutthaya until the city was completely destroyed by the Burmese in 1767. It was the grandest and most beautiful temple in the capital and it served as a model for Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok.
Wat Phutthaisawan is a historic Thai Buddhist temple in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, central Thailand, can be considered as part of Ayutthaya Historical Park. Until now, it is over 666 years old.
Wat yai chai mongkhon was constructed by King U-Thong in 1357 A.D. to accommodate the monks that were ordained by Phra Wanratana Mahathera Burean. This monastery was named "Wat Pakaew".
Afterwards, Phra Wanratana of Wat Pa Kaew suggested to King Naresuan the Great to build a Chedi (pagoda). He decided to construct a large Chedi in this monastery in 1592 A.D. This monastery became known as Wat Yai Chaimongkhon.
The ubosot (buddhist temple) and vihara (monastery) have their rear sections extended through the gallery. The satellite stupas of varied structural forms and contemporary with the main stupa are lined up outside the gallery.
