Inktober 2019

Inktober 2019
Last October, @heyrinjani and Popo @inglandjanun participated in #inktober challenge. Inktober is a month long art challenge focused on improving skill and developing positive drawing habits. Every day for the whole month, participants are encouraged to draw once a day and post it online.

This is actually their second Inktober. Last year, Rinjani and Popo only lasted until day 10 and gave up. This year, both Rinjani and Popo finally finished the challenge up until day 31. Yay, Rinjani! Yay, Popo!

Other than improving drawing skill and habit, the main reason why we challenged Rinjani to participate in Inktober is to let her learn about patience, consistency, perseverance, determination, or in human language; mastering the art of doing boring jobs. We told her, no matter how good your drawing skill is, it’s useless if you don’t have the patience, consistency, or cannot even finish what you started.

If you think Rinjani is that talented and consistent kind of girl, you’re wrong. Being a little girl, she went, “i can’t wait for October to end, i’m bored of inktober ughh!” several times, but we‘re always there to encourage her, gave her extra time, and when she’s stuck, we discussed about crazy ideas with her. And most importantly, she knew that she’s not alone, because obviously Popo was also struggling every day right beside her. With her.
