Eros is Tension

Having in mind different understandings of the Eros as a God of life, passion and seduction, the common way it can be presented is definitely as something sensual, organic, something intangible that does not exist in reality. Starting from the point of view that Eros consists of two contrasting unified units (life and death, water and fire...), and then going deeper to its origin, where it creates something from nothing, and is also perceived as an inner strength for moving forward; Eros can be described as an uncontrollable passion for opposite part of the Whole. An unpredictable feeling of tension. Therefore, what does Eros mean in art, design, architecture, everywhere? It means Tension.
Using the purest existing shape-the shape of cube, together with a fluid horizontal construction, and two different materials (reflective and transparent surfaces), the intention was to create something between interior space and sculpture: a continuous form with no clear neither beginning nor end, as a representation of both, Eros and tension.
Structure is composed by 34 layers, made of 55 pieces. The 1351 cubes gradually decrease from bottom layer to the top one.

Fragility and transparency are perceived as an intangible form, converted into organic, fluid shape. The ‘Eros is tension’ project represents an approach to life:
An uncontrollable journey with all its advantages and disadvantages, given by the different points of view in the mirror. Attraction and passion between two opposites, yin and yang, positive and negative sides, light and darkness, presented through two entrances-small and large, perfect and imperfect; and through relations of proportion between cubes, as structural pieces, and whole model, as a structure itself. A sensual form of liquid flow, reminding of fluidity and always moving and changing process, even though in contrast with static form of the structure.
The final result is six meters long tunnel where is possible to experience the feeling of tension in a sensual way.
