Jamma de Samba is an organisation that promotes the Brazilian culture and Carnival spirit across the country, providing workshops and performances for schools, corporate events, carnivals, festivals and private functions to name a few.
I was asked to redesign the T-shirts worn by the Bath Samba Society to promote the business of Jamma de Samba, in time for the Bath Carnival 2012 on August 25th, where the Tshirts would show their first appearance.
The Brief
To improve the profitability and sustainability of the business; to make the most of marketing opportunities while performing.
The different groups: Samba Sulis / Bloco Talento / Bloco de Loco / Casa de Samba
Requirements were to include:
- The name ‘Jamma de Samba’ (primary focus)
- The logo of the relevant group (off-focus, but noticeable enough for group’s members to feel associated with their particular group)
- The website address (www.bathsamba.co.uk) preferably on the back of the T-shirts.
Restrictions were:
- Include the existing Jamma de Samba logo - it cannot be modified as it is already a known and recognised brand around Bath.
- The T-shirts are to be bright yellow
- All logos should incorporate the name of the group within the logo
- All logos must be round in shape, with all elements incorporated within the round
- The Samba Sulis logo should lose the phrases ‘hot rhythms’ and ‘hot springs'
