Symphony 2019: Event Branding



Symphony is K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering's annual cultural festival. It is organised to celebrate the amalgamation of music, dance, art and other cultural aspects of the Somaiya campus.

As the lead designer for the festival, I was leading the team that was tasked with creating the visual identity, merchandise, online publicity material, and website for the festival's 2019 edition.

With our designs we wanted to reflect the year's theme (A Warped Reality) and other values that Symphony represents: Energetic, Surrealism, Cultural Diversity, Student Community, Escape, Fantasy, Art, Festival.

The typographic expressions, logo redesign, comical illustrations and vibrant color palette, all come together to convey the theme for the year, which was essentially a play on surrealism and alternate realities. In simpler words, we tried to 'warp' and exaggerate the routine reality through our designs.
