Bukchon Hanok Village (북촌 한옥 마을)
Bukchon Hanok Village, located in Seoul, South Korea, is famous for traditional houses which are called Hanok. Many tourists visit to see its unique landscape and to experience Korean culture.
Although some houses are operated as guest houses, cultural museums, and cafes, most of Hanoks are actually home for local residents.
Residents in Bukchon village have been suffered from noise and invasion of privacy that mostly comes from visitors.
As a result, the city of Seoul decided to manage the issue by placing residential area keepers, who monitor actions that can disturb locals.
Visitors can enter the village 10:00-17:00 during weekdays and Saturdays. It is not open on Sundays.
