Filmsupply Edit Fest 2019 invited editors to create a 60-second spec piece using their footage library in one of the three categories: title sequence, movie trailer, and advertisement. The title sequence for Quad is my entry for the challenge.

Quad follows the journey of 4 strangers from different parts of the world who make supernatural discoveries. What’s the source of their discoveries? What happens when things are uncovered?

As there was a selected playlist of music available for use, I started with selecting the music and cutting it down to fit the time. A basic storyline was formed with cues from the music and clips that seemed to work well together.

Once the story was fully formed and a rough edit was in place, I started looking at the typography direction. A line-based graphic style was used for lettering and motion design to evoke the movement of a meteor through the atmosphere and its impact.
