Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s first seafood restaurant has debuted at Pier 17, vanguard of the transformation of lower Manhattan. Located near the former site of the Fulton Fish Market, it’s a waterfront tribute to a neighborhood the renowned chef fell in love with while shopping for seafood in his early years.
The sea is a mysterious part of the world that has captured the imagination of artists, writers, and chefs alike, and our branding for The Fulton is an homage to its romantic lyricism. That concept is underscored by the interior’s surreal subaquatic murals by En-Viu and the elegant nautical interiors by the acclaimed design firm Yabu Pushelberg
The unconventional hand-lettered logo refracts as if seen through water, and its calligraphic understroke evokes a fisherman’s line. Hand-painted watercolor textures serve as an inviting backdrop for Vongerichten’s sumptuous culinary creations.
With two levels, a terrace, and sweeping views of the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, the Fulton reminds us that we are on an island, surrounded by the treasures of the ocean.
