Overview
Working with the VP of eCommerce & Online Merchandising, Site Manager and UX Manager, I worked on the 2011 homepage redesign of Backyard Ocean. With the given user and business goals, I created several ideations and comps from the wireframes to the web design (including icons, assets, buttons, etc). Together with the team, we refined a design option that best succeeded the all the goals in its correct priorities.
A few examples of the business goals were to convey credibility of the business, provide accessibility to all categories, maintain and/or improve SEO ranking, increase visitor conversion and differentiate the brand from competitors. A few examples of users goals were to assure users would be able to find product, navigate through various products and understand the store's policies & benefits.
