Visit Azores - Tourism Icons

This is a series of Icons designed to represent the 9 islands of the Azores archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean in a simple and modern way.
The aim of the project is to identify the recurrent elements of the flora of the island and to immortalize its characteristic and most representative place in an aesthetic graphic design.

A chromatic scale has been chosen to identify the diversity of the islands, from the color of sand and volcanic rocks to those of rich and sub-tropical vegetation up to the more classic shades of sky and ocean.

A strong tint was chosen for each island, trying to summarize its most striking features
The result is a series of light and pleasant icons that integrate green and blue colors with alternative elements.

The icons also help in identifying visual aids such as photos, postcards, videos and for the institutional website.

In addition, the icons are used for signage and infographics such as the map of Atlantic ferry and air routes, still within the archipelago.
But they are also applied to local products in order to identify each island in its culinary, gastronomic and artisan peculiarities.
Here are some products including cheese, tuna, ice cream, milk and wine with the small icon of the island of origin of production.
