BROKEN BRAIN EXPLAINER VIDEO

Our brains were originally programmed to help us survive in a world with physical threats, such as lack of food or extreme weather conditions. Although we don't need many of these survival mechanisms anymore, many of our thoughts and feelings are still their byproducts. This video explores just a couple ways in which our brain processes information incorrectly, but there are hundreds. If you want to learn more, look up cognitive biases, it's so interesting how the human brain works!

When I set out on this personal project, I knew I wanted to teach people something, and I wanted to do it in 3D. I started with writing the script, then sketching out ideas. It was important to me to sketch out my ideas before entering the software, because I wanted to make sure the ideas drove the animation, not the software. I then built and animated all my scenes using Cinema 4D. I composited and sound designed everything using After Effects and Premiere. Below you will find a Process Video of this project, highlighting some of the biggest portions of the project.

I made a Case Study if you want to see a deeper dive on my process. Everything in this piece, from the script, to modeling, to the final sound design was done by me. This project was challenging in the best way, I truly believe that animation is such a powerful tool to tell a story. I can't wait to do more of this type of work!
