Mid Autumn Festival Illustration

Happy Mid Autumn! 中秋節 (Zhōngqiū Jié)

Mid Autumn Festival fell on September 13, last week. It's a harvest festival celebrated by Chinese and Vietnamese people, it's also related to Chuseok (Autumn Eve, celebrated by Koreans) and Tsukimi (Japanese Festival for honoring the Autumn Moon). The festival held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the Lunar Calendar with the full moon in sight. As a Chinese descendants, my family usually celebrate the Mid Autumn by eating mooncakes together. Mooncake is a sweet circular Chinese bakery consisted of sweet fillings with crust on the outside. They're usually embedded with beautiful crests on the top too.

For celebrating the festival i love so much, i made an illustration combining the mid autumn's traditions celebrated by Chinese (Mooncakes) and Tsukimi (Mochi) with a touch of rabbits because when you heard about moons, usually you are reminded of rabbits, right? ;)
