When motion graphics studio Radio Design were designing their new website they asked me to get involved at an early stage. I worked with their creative director Ben Cook, advising on the best way to turn their visual ideas into an innovative new website, optimized for tablets and modern browsers.

I built the site in Wordpress, customizing the admin to meet Radio's specific requirements. I made radiodesign.co.uk quick and easy to update, and secure. Work-categories keep the portfolio organised and allow for a neat filtering of the projects page. And, custom fields and personalized settings mean there is nothing on the back-end that doesn't have a purpose and everything on the front-end can be edited by the people at Radio.
Screen Shots
The dynamic homepage features a bespoke image-slider and links to the top features of the site.
The Projects library adapts to fit different screen sizes and the filters can be used to rearrange the page to show only the work you're looking for. Clicking the filters also adds a pleasing movement to the page. Try it out here: http://radiodesign.co.uk/projects
Each project page can incorporate images, texts and videos.
The Information page provides areas for the studio's profile, contact details and social network links.
The Transmissions page provides a stream of changing scenery, automatically updating itself every time Radio make a new Twitter, Instagram or Tumblr post. Click here to tune in yourself.
Close Ups
As a motion graphics agency, high-definition was a requirement for the site.
Precision Typography - Radio needed their fonts and for everything in the designs to be reproduced to-the-pixel.
The Transmissions page is one of my favourites. It brings in all the latest Radio posts from Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr and provides links for the user to visit the real thing.
While the Transmissions page brings selected social media onto the site, share buttons on every page give users the option to publish content from the page to selected social media hubs.
An other of my favourite parts of producing the Radio Design website was the bespoke image-slider. Written with just 84 lines of succinct Javascript, this slider does exactly what Radio asked for and nothing else. They simply mark featured projects in the Projects Library and the appropriate images, texts and links join the slider. Try it here.
