Existing Condition: Empty, Segregated, Monotone, Fear, Void, Industrial, Uneventful, Disconnected, light
The existing context of Boularvard Leger in Montréal is marked by a lightness which is characterized by
a lack of colour, activities and social interactions. The proposed design “Leger” aims to strip the word
lightness from all its negative implications. It involves the introduction of a series of themed activity
generators which transforms a once segregated neighborhood into a center stage of Montréal on which
social interactions and activities take place.

Green Elements – Designated for family and children, they consist of wide range of playful facilities such as playgrounds, hockey rinks (floor & ice hockey), sporting grounds and board-game tables. To encourage children to be activity and fit, many of the facilities light up or make sounds by the kinetic energy the children generate during interaction.
Yellow Elements – Scattered with programmatic spaces geared towards adolescents, these elements include cafes, lounges, study areas, various sporting grounds, and skate parks which encourage educational, leisure, and physical social interactions.
Red Elements – adult entertainment, which includes bars, night clubs, restaurants, pool halls, large projection screens, comedy clubs, cafes and a small red light district.  Even after the sun is set, the community continues to be active for those who finished a long day of work.
Gray Elements – Being the main intersections, they are the center stages which connect all the elements. Events such as concerts, markets, theatres, festivals, and even the famous Cirque du soleil can take place in. They attract not only the local neighbours but also nearby locals and tourists.
