Design as Observation

This was my very first project from my design lab in college. The objective was to create three different collages out of manmade objects that mean something to ourselves. For me, I chose to take pictures of keychains on my backpack because they represent who I am and what I like.
Above is all the 18 photos that I took for the first part of the project.
All of my collages kind of have kid-like colors to reflect childhood. I chose to use my keychains because of how they represent a piece of who I am. The collage above shows dragons which relates to how my Chinese zodiac is a dragon.
All the keychains displayed above are bought from Taiwan which allowed me to connect more with my own heritage. Usually, one would write their wishes and dreams on the lanterns before letting them float away into the sky.
This is the third collage. It is kind of loosely based on Star Wars' themes and colors. All the keychains on the "white side" of the collage had their colors inverted while all the keychains on the "dark side" kept their original colors.
