The Dragonfly Project

The Dragonflies Project
Whilst studying Graphic Design at Brighton University, I received the opportunity to create a book cover design for Brighton University's Creative Writing Masters course. I was approached by a student on the Masters course who wanted a cover to be created for the course's anthology which they were compiling. The main theme and name of the book was to be 'dragonflies', symbolising their growth as writers.

My design included a cluster of dragonflies, one for each student on the course, all flying in formation to create a strong and resilient group. Whilst I wanted the dragonflies to seem as one, I also wanted to differentiate between them by varying the wing patterns for each individual insect. These individual designs were also used within the book at the beginning of each person's individual sections.
