Design as Observation: explanation of the project

The 18 original photos collectively show the active nature of a college student. Focus on the hands represents the different uses of hands in the day of a college student, carrying a drawing pad for a class, holding a key lanyard, holding cutlery to eat dinner, and holding a piece of paper, representing classwork. Next comes the keys, the keys are to represent the basis of living on the college campus. Without the keys there is no place to sleep and no way to connect to mail services, via the mailroom key. Keys make up the necessities to carry around everyday, as shown by the various lanyards, and clips holding them together. Lastly is the brick, the basic building block of the majority of the buildings on the UConn campus. The various layouts represent the differing structures, and characteristics. Some old and covered by moss, others weathered, and discolored from years of sun exposure. Altogether the bricks give students and faculty a place to learn, or live, and represent the overall diversity of people, and majors as seen among the student population here at UCONN.

These photos are represented in the form of the three separate collage, that altogether line up to stand side by side.
