Emir of Lebanon
József Boros’ Emir of Lebanon titled painting, and its background was the source of my inspiration. It tells a supposedly fictional eastern journey. During my design process I made a fictional journey to East as well.
Fitting into orientalism, I wanted to emphasize the importance of mixing the elements, of the chosen countries’ folk wear. My hand woven textile collection has a supplementary function to my clothes. Authentic in Turkish folk wear, I was inspired by the textiles wrapped around the waistline.
The goal of this process was for me to return home in a glory of a sultan.
