This is a project I made at my college (PUC-Rio) in 2019.1, under supervision of Julieta Sobral. Named ‘Blue Beard’, it’s the second chapter of the book “Women who run with the wolves” by Clarissa Pinkola Estés. The editorial project was designed to make the reading process easier, with graphic interventions to highlight the most important passages, and blank spaces in each page’s layout to facilitate the reading of the text.
In every chapter, the author tells a tale, and then goes to explain it making a parallel with the women’s psique. Sometimes during the explanation, you may feel the need to go back to the story, so I thought of a modular system that should facilitate the reader to see both the tale and explanation at the same time - you just remove the outer strap that binds it all together, and then you can open both at the same time.
Due to the time frame we had to finish the project, I was only able to do the second chapter of the book. The idea was to segment each chapter and make a book set collection with all of them.

Esse é um projeto que fiz em minha faculdade (PUC-Rio) em 2019.1, sob orientação de Julieta Sobral. Chamado ‘Barba Azul’, é o segundo capítulo do livro “Mulheres que correm com os lobos”, de Clarissa Pinkola Estes. O projeto editorial foi pensado de forma a facilitar a leitura do livro, com intervenções gráficas para destacar as passagens mais importantes, e espaços em branco no layout de cada página a fim de auxiliar na leitura do texto.
Em cada capítulo, a autora conta uma historia, e então a explica, fazendo um paralelo com a psiquê feminina. Às vezes, durante a explicação, você pode sentir necessidade de voltar ao conto para esclarecer alguma coisa, então pensei em um sistema modular que pode ajudar o leitor a ver ambos o conto e a interpretação da autora ao mesmo tempo - é só remover a cinta que envolve o livro, e então poderá abrir os dois ao mesmo tempo.
Devido ao tempo que tínhamos pra completar o projeto, só pude fazer o segundo capítulo do livro. A ideia era segmentar casa capítulo, fazendo um set com todos eles.
