Frog paintings inspired by Chōjū-jinbutsu-giga.

"Chōjū-jinbutsu-giga (鳥獣人物戯画, literally "Animal-person Caricatures"), commonly shortened to Chōjū-giga (鳥獣戯画, literally "Animal Caricatures"), is a famous set of four picture scrolls, or emakimono, belonging to Kōzan-ji temple in KyotoJapan. "

There are very few things I love drawing more than frogs. I think that comes out in these paintings. The two I painted in acrylic are some of my favorite things I have ever created. They brought me a lot of joy. I hope others feel that as well!

One of the cool things about working for a larger company is sometimes the work I make pops up in other parts of the world. These frogs were originally made for a project in Japan but this is a wall mural in America. I've seen them used in different ways in China, India, Singapore as well! Really pleased these little guys seem to make others as happy as they made me.
