KLASIK CUTZ
KINYOZI & SALON
Klasik Cutz is a celebration of African hair, the audacity of it, the manipulation of it and the spaces that our hair is made in. The Kinyozi or the Salon.
I started this project to re-imagine the Kinyozi poster in the barbershop that we would choose a hairstyle from in the 90's in Nairobi but really any African city. I wanted to photograph African hairstyles and make a poster that looked like those posters (only that the posters we grew up with were painted, not photographed). Klasik Cutz is the imaginary Kinyozi that i made this for.
