Voodoo BLVD
July 2019

My friend Romain, experienced mixologist, approached me with his idea to open a cocktail parlour in the province of Kampot, Cambodia.

The name Voodoo BLVD has been chosen because the ingredients used in his cocktails (plant, spice, smoke, mousse) are reminiscent of those used in Voodoo magic potions. In addition, the general atmosphere of the place (decoration, menu, smell and music) should plunge the guests into a mystical sensory journey.

The place will display a combination of raw material (metal, wood, bricks), tropical plants, and Asian colonial style, while the facade of the building will be painted in fawn colour and matte black, then covered with golden voodoo symbols stencils.

Drinks would include high-end cocktails, alcohols and premium softs.
As for the food, Romain plans on serving World cuisine-revisited Korean baos (French version, Creole, traditional, Spanish etc.)
Price Range: High for Cambodia with more affordable options for travellers and expats.
First draft

Starting with an all-seeing eye and inspired by voodoo symbols. The logo was created to decline into intricate combinations as it grows (like climbing plants, or spell runes being cast). The aim was to achieve a luxurious, yet accessible feel, and give a solid structure to instill the brand voice.
Finished logo

The idea of the eye has been warmly welcomed, and more voodoo symbols have been added to both the mark and the logotype – now presented in a warm gold colour.
