Modern filigree sphere

Work done for the brand Lívia Canuto, from Rio de Janeiro. The collection was inspired by brazilian historic jewelry style known as "Joias de Crioula", in this style of jewelry, necklaces and bracelets made of filigree beads were very typical. To represent that characteristic, the brieffing was to design a sphere that resembled filigree but with a modern twist. Using Rhinoceros 3D software, I built the module with small solid spheres, positioning them to create a pattern. The model was 3D printed and cast into silver, to be then used in the creation of this piece. We also printed a smaller version, that was later used to make a pair of earrings, a ring and a more commercial necklace.

This necklace was featured in Ela Magazine.
story and interview with Lívia Canuto in Ela magazine, from the Globo newspaper.
