CONNECT/COLLECT URBAN FURNITURE SYSTEM
DESIGN CONCEPT
This project was designed as part of the design competition "Establishing Busan Station as The Hub of Creative Economy - 2015"
The concept was tied to “Technology and Art”, creating a network of units that are easy to build/detach for different scenarios throughout the site area: and throughout the city of Busan.
These pods act as a street gallery where local artists can participate in creating artistic panels that fits easily in the system, while at the same time, act as an updated billboard that informs about all the coming Artistic and Technological events.
The design was inspired by the traditional light Korean screens, interpreted in a modern way, using metal structure, lexan, and a new type of solar cells, which can generate power from diffuse light using a specialized colored panel.
The pods also shows care for environment by integrating plantation and LED lights.
