"1900" (Chilia Enniakosia) is a seaside tavern in Kala Nera, Magnesia - Greece, established in a building of historical meaning for the area which counts over a century of life.
While designing "1900", we had under consideration the history of the building, which was built in 1900, as well as the traditional location. So we chose to use dark-colored timber in the construction, traditional dining tables, plaid tablecloths and garland lamps for outdoor lighting. With photographic references in the years of operation of the shop, as well as details in decorative space, we gave a nostalgic warmth to this traditional tavern.
Studying the 1900's typographic styles set the guidelines for designing the logo. We also chose to write the name of the tavern in a literary way to gain weight and intensity. Moreover, we designed a second oval logo figure with numerals referring to the name of the tavern, making it easy to be read by tourists. In the catalogs, cards and sousplats, we used photographs and encyclopedic references of the area.
