Although I've been an artist most of my adult life, I started out making live size figural quilts and soft sculpture. I had major shows including on e at the Nassau County Museum and another at the Morris Museum. Today I work in wire, mixed media, found objects and artist quality shrink film which i draw or paint on. I use a lot of antique watch parts which I find particularly beautiful. My work plays on making the 2 dimensional into 3, on making inorganic materials into an organic statement, and hoping that the figures I create, like in the story of the Velveteen Rabbit, take on a life of their own.
