The film I chose to work on was 'Harlan County, USA' by Barbara Kopple. The film follows the lives of miners in Kentucky in a documentary style, showing the trials and tribulations of a group of people fighting for what they believe in. 

The poster I created used marks made using coal. These images were then combined with type using the lithographic printing process. I used this process to allow for impurities to pop up in poster and give it a hand made feel which would link to the hand made pickets the miners would have used.
