Disrupt
Disrupt is a chest of drawers designed by extracting elements from The Snow Angel, a soundtrack composed by Mike Patton for the film The Place Beyond The Pines, and distilling them into a pair of dualistic keywords to inform the design direction of the product.

The chosen pair of keywords are:
Unobstructed progression of bass and disruptive regression of synthesiser
The chest of drawers' ability to have each of its components extend horizontally was inspired by Japanese designer Keiji Ashizawa's Drawer Shelf (2010).

The keywords progression and regression were heavily focused on. Progression was envisioned as linear and continuous, and regression as a spiral. Progression featured in the bass sounds thicker and heavier while regression in the synthesiser sounds cooler and lighter. Hence, dark and light coloured wood. Lines were used to showcase continuity while the ability to slide in another direction represented the disruption.

The design features three identically sized drawers, drawing inspiration from the systematic arrangement of the piece. Zig zag lines run across the faces of the drawers to represent continuity which is disrupted every time by the act of pulling open the drawers as well as the horizontal extension of each drawers.
