FLATIRON FILM FESTIVAL - Identity

FLATIRON FILM FESTIVAL is a ten-day film event that takes place in the SVA Theatre in New York City. These ten films that were united through a design system that was referenced from a movie filming location.

When I first started this project, I thought that these films were picked out randomly and it was hard to find a connection between them. The more I researched on my references, the more I knew that it needs some kind of visual effects as a starting point to brand the event.

The blurred stills and the clapperboard is a stripped down visual solution to a movie set, as if the actors were seen in the foreground from the clapperboard. These movie stills are iconic enough for the audience to guess the name of the film. The color choice were black and white to help unify the posters as a brand.
