This is a poster I designed for a competition which looked for narrative illustrations around the theme of unity. 

My submission is focused on the idea of family and uses the motif of a family tree to show how relationships within a family are strong but often twisted and complex. I wanted to create an almost fairy-tale quality to the image to illustrate the narrative element of the submission and of the history of the family. 

I drew the components of the illustration in pencil before inking it up and scanning it. I coloured the image in Adobe Illustrator.
