The anchor has long been a symbol of the East coast. As long as there have been
boats, there have been anchors; mooring themselves to the dark depths of the
uncertain sea until it’s time to pull it from the ocean floor into the shimmering
light of the surface. Life on the sea was never for the feint of heart. Sailors
swilling rum, anchor tattoos adorned on their bulging forearms.
