Silver Weave

Partiendo del objetivo de experimentar tanto con la maleabilidad del alambre, como con la cantidad de calor que se le debe aplicar a este para lograr una soldadura precisa; se desarrolla un proyecto de diseño que nace del concepto del telar vertical para elaborar un tejido plano con alambre de plata y bronce.

Starting from the objective of experimenting both with the malleability of the wire, and with the amount of heat that must be applied to it to achieve a precise welding; A design project is developed that is born from the concept of the vertical loom to make a flat weave with silver and bronze wire.

Prototipo en Bronce

Con una prensa de mesa se sostuvo la urdimbre, mientras se posicionaban uno por uno los alambre que formaban la trama. De tal manera que la urdimbre se dobló y entrecruzó sobre cada uno de los alambres de la trama para poder hacer el tejido.

The warp was held with a table press, while the wires that formed the weft were positioned one by one. In such a way that the warp was folded and crossed over each of the weft wires to be able to make the weave.

Teniendo el tejido terminado se soldó cada uno de los extremos donde se une la trama con la urdimbre, de manera que todos los alambres quedaran asegurados en los bordes.

Luego se pasó el tejido entero por la aplanadora y finalmente se le dio el acabado brillante, primero con la pulidora y después con el barril de balines que bruñeron y brillaron la pieza.

Having the finished weave, each of the ends where the weft joins the warp was welded, so that all the wires were secured at the edges.
Then the entire weave was passed through the steamroller and finally the glossy finish was given, first with the polishing machine and then with the barrel of pellets that polished and shined the piece.

Resultado del Prototipo

Anillo Tejido

Se repitió el proceso de producción del prototipo cambiando únicamente la cantidad de alambres que se usaron tanto para la trama como para la urdimbre, a causa de la diferencia de calibre entre el alambre de plata y el alambre de bronce. Asimismo se soldaron los alambres que sobraban de la urdimbre para cerrar el anillo de una manera más estética.

The prototype production process was repeated, only changing the number of wires that were used for both the warp and weft, due to the difference in gauge between silver wire and bronze wire. Likewise, the wires that were left over from the warp were welded to close the ring in a more aesthetic way.

Candongas tejidas

Nuevamente se repitió el proceso de producción del prototipo cambiando la cantidad de alambres de la trama y de la urdimbre, debido al diseño de los aretes. Adicionalmente se le añadió un poste de alambre el uno de los extremos del tejido.

Once again, the prototype production process was repeated, changing the number of weft and warp wires, due to the design of the earrings. Additionally, a wire post was added to one of the ends of the weave.
