Cycling West Africa - Part 1

Cycling West Africa - Documentary Series
Part 1 - Casablanca to Dakhla
West Africa en Vélo is a long distance cycling tour organized by TDA Global Cycling. The participants cycle 6220km, for 3 months, from the famous city Casablanca, Morocco to the colorful city of Cape Coast, Ghana. Passing through 7 countries this is both physically and psychologically challenging. I was hired to document the journey of the cyclists, climbing up the Atlas Mountains, passing through the Mauritanian desserts and pedaling their way through the lush jungles of Guinea and many more.

In this first part, we start from the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Africa. From there we go South to the pink city of Marrakesh. The colorful carpets, fabric and the streets are a delight as we make our way to the top Atlas Mountains. Clouds laid like cotton beds, we start our decent to get closer to the coast and the ocean and slowly make our way to the surfing capital of Africa, Dakhla.
