Nothing shows more resilience than completing a project that someone else started. For this assignment, several video clips without sound were provided for review, the premise being conflict resolution. The objective was to identify which clips would best support a developed storyline in relation to conflict resolution. The focus for this assignment was story creation and video production for instructional purposes. The intended audience was adults who were experiencing relationship conflicts with their significant others.
Editing Software: GarageBand and iMovie
Clips
Sixteen video clips, featuring three main characters, were provided as part of a downloadable package. It was my job to determine which clips to incorporate into my storyline of relationship conflict resolution.
Project constraints: no additional footage could be added, less than three minutes long.
The Video
iMovie was used to blend the clips into a complete story, while GarageBand was used to record narration and incorporate sound (i.e. music and sound effects from West Star). The storyline explored the 4D’s to relationship conflict resolution, 1) decompress, 2) distance, 3) date, and 4) discuss. After exporting the completed project from GarageBand, I uploaded the video to Vimeo, a platform used for video file sharing.
