While riding in France, in 2006, following the Tour and riding some of the race's most epic climbs, I kept asking myself as I suffered, how would I stack up against some the best cyclist in the world and in the history of cycling?
Palmares, the French word meaning list of achievements or list of winners, is an app allowing cyclists the ability to compare, share, and compete with others on the biggest climbs of the Tour and Giro. Additionally, Palmares comes with a list of metrics from some of the worlds greatest cyclists - Contador, Schlecks, Evans, Hesjedal, Merckx, Pantani. Can you match Pantani's ascent of Alpe d'Huez in '97?
The app includes both a Le Tour and a Giro version. Each with the most epic and grueling climbs from over a 100 years of the Grand Tours. Palmares lets you track your rides via your iPhone, Android to analyze and quantify your performance. Palmares makes riding these infamous and grueling climbs a social experience, providing motivation and camaraderie even if you’re riding alone.
