Carpentry Logo & Branding

Lost in the Prairie
One of my freelance clients came to me for a logo. He had been running his own custom carpentry business for a few years and wanted to get business cards and apparel made. He was on a tight budget and needed the design fast. One other thing to consider was he needed a lockup with his slogan and was eventually going to make a brand to burn into the cabinets he made. Simple, easy to identify and clean.

I wanted something very simple but representative of the kind of work my client created: constructed, proportional and precise. The color palette was chosen to contrast all the bright primary and neon colors that I noticed in other local trade companies. My client only performed high-end work, so I wanted something that spoke to a sophisticated palette, but clearly represented the dust and nature of carpentry.
