Reverberate

In the system of classical elements, referred to as Tattva (Sanskrit for ’reality' or 'truth') in India, water is the second most important element of nature; it is in us and all around us, elements that are not only viewed as substances but also as sensory experiences.

As an art installation element aimed at calming the senses while providing an intriguing user journey, a performance such as dance evoking water is the source of my inspiration for this project. Exploring phenomena such as Cymatics instilled in me a curiosity to discover the unique patterns in water at different scopes in the environment, planet and even our bodies.

Finally, I used the forgotten part of trees as my cymatic vessel and refined its form, to fit indoors. This element may potentially be used as an interactive home accessory, visualising the music we listen to in a new experience.
