Artist Statement:
All pieces are examples of my exploration of the intaglio process. I converted the 3D model of a hand into a 2D piece which was then incised into glass to print. While intaglio is a rather time consuming process, I find it a highly rewarding one. I appreciate the texture that is possible while printing, as it is a fitting characteristic of a natural person. Although printing is normally easy to replicate due to the etching plate, the majority of my pieces include additional media. This is to ensure variation within each piece, creating artwork that is as unique as a fingerprint.
