Managing the Instagram for Rare Magazine
Because this is a glossy fashion magazine, having a consistent and beautiful aesthetic was key. In most cases, I sourced images for their Instagram from articles or products featured in the print issue. I chose seasonal color themes, and arranged images and modified their colors to blend. I took care to vary the editorial to cover the magazine's different categories. I edited, arranged and posted the photos and I wrote the copy and researched tags. This process was repeated for their imprint.
Additionally, I took photos and videos at events like the Maker Faire and San Francisco trunk shows for posting to Instagram Stories.
They brought me in on their 36th Instagram post, and in the hundred posts since then we've grown over ten thousand followers.
