As a school project I had to design the whole layout, cover and also illustrations for Douglas Adams' famous book, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
After watching the movie version of the book I was sure I wanted to create the illustrations in a very distinct way, something totally different from what I have seen there. That's why I choose a minimalistic, geometric style which ( I hope ) does not limit one's imagination as much as the strong characters of the movie when reading the book for the first time.
For the title on the cover and for every chapter title I randomly distanced the letters from each other, creating a space-like feel caused by the lack of gravity.
