Ma démarche s’oppose à ce gaspillage de matières premières. J’ai choisi de travailler sur le bois et l’acier, qui se répondent et se complètent. Le premier est un matériau chaud et vivant, le second un matériau froid. Constatant que la récupération de bois urbain (palettes, bois de chantier) était insuffisante pour ce projet, j’ai contacté une scierie dont j’ai récupéré une partie des chutes.

L’alliance chêne et fer à béton provoque la rencontre de deux matériaux aux origines éloignées, l’un noble, l’autre modeste. Leur complémentarité enrichit l’objet : le bois constitue la surface, le fer, la ligne. Celle-ci vient contraster visuellement avec la masse de la planche, pour mieux lui répondre.

Having lost any value to the sawmill, these falls are crushed for the manufacture of compressed logs. I intervene at this level by rehabilitating these falls, which avoids their destruction.
