ISTD: Arab Spring
The International Society of Typographic Designers (ISTD) held a competition for students. The brief was to design an editorial piece exploring the theme Protest.
This book aims to make people aware of the use of social media by Governments during The Arab Spring. People normally think that because social media is a democratic tool, means that technology benefits only citizens, however, during the Arab Spring the Governments obtained more benefits by using these platforms than protesters did. It also aims to warn people that social media is not responsible for The Arab Spring rising, understanding that social media is only a tool that helped to organise for protesting.
