Pose e Variações is an exquisite exhibition containing sculptures from the private collections of two very passionate art collectors: Carl Jacobsen and Calouste Gulbenkian. The collections are shown together for the first time in a touring exhibition that opens at the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum.

I was asked to create this promo to present the exhibition by my friends at Revisitar Produções, which I directed and animated. For this project, I was given a series of high resolution photos of several sculptures from the museum. The idea was to create a small trailer showcasing some of the sculptures and informing the public on the details of the exhibition. This collection of sculptures is strongly based on the variation of poses, so I started by creating a number of styleframes focused on composing a strong pose with written text. In the end, we chose 5 different styleframes which I then composed into a fluid video. I kept the animation fairly simple, playing more with the depth of field on each frame. The sculptures are animated ever so slightly to give a nice sense of illusion. 

Ultimately, the video was not used by the museum but I really liked creating it, since it's a bit different from the kind of work I usually do. It was a challenge to incorporate animation into photography and build a trailer that could both be eye catching and beautifully stylized. In the end, I was very happy with the final result and I think it works very well.
