The Mad Heart Marathon is an annual charity run organized in order to raise money and awareness for heart disease prevention and research. The majority of participants in the race are men and women ages 20 to 40. Participants get sponsors to pay them a certain amount of money per kilometre they will run. All proceeds go towards medical research for heart disease treatment and prevention. The event raises awareness for those suffering from heart diseases. It also encourages people to live a more active lifestyle.
